Things I loved about True Blood

I admit it, I'm obsessed with "True Blood". Hands down my favorite show on television right now. Already this year, I've been to two screenings of the show (including one where I got a nice bag of swag). I've stalked Merlottes. Oh and how much do I love my job, where I can not only buy "True Blood" shirts at the gift shop for a discount, but then wear them to work? It's pretty much killer.

I thought last night's episode "I Got a Right to Sing the Blues" was near awesome. Here's the things that I loved the most.

- The opening scene, with all the major players assembling in slow motion in Russell's house.

- How Talbot screamed louder than Sookie when Bill was fighting the vampires (and destroying the house).

- Eric telling Sookie to shut-up and then making her shut-up by covering her mouth.

- Anything with Arlene and Jessica. It's like they are in there own little spin-off.

- The fact that Sam and his family didn't appear for over 45 minutes into the show.

- Tara going crazy on Franklin. Seriously, how does she always get it these situations.

- I kind of felt for Lorena last night. I wouldn't have thought that was possible.

- At the same time, I kind of wish she would have killed Bill. He's been kind of boring.

- And you would think Sookie would use her powers to stop Lorena from biting her.

As usual, I can't wait until next week. Especially after seeing the trailer for the rest of the season that came out at Comic-Con.

I swear I haven't fallen off the earth

Opps, it seems I'm take a long bit of a hiatus from blogging. Since my last post came after "The Vampire Diaries" finale, maybe I've been shock this whole time from that twist ending.

Truth is, I've just been busy with life in general. I still love my job and love that I am working in the heart of the television industry. And don't worry I'm still watching television. In fact I plan on posting about it much, much more.

With the new layout, hopefully I'll keep inspired to keep writing. I already have a few things I'm itching to write about ("True Blood", my summer of watching the whole series of "Supernatural"). I promise, I'll be back soon.

Finale Watch: The Vampire Diaries

I think I said it before, but I completely underestimated this show. What a thrill ride this season has been.

The finale was particularly good. As the first one I've watched this season it has set the bar pretty high for ending a season. The last ten minutes in particular was intense. It managed to do something that only one other show has ever managed to do. Make me think I was watching something only to find out it was something else entirely. The end had Elena kissing Damon! And then going into the kitchen to talk with her Uncle John. And then she proceeded to chop off his fingers (and life-saving ring) and stab him. Only then did I realize the truth, just as John did. This wasn't Elena. It was her look-a-like, the often mentioned Katherine.

When the episode was over I had to instantly rewind it and rewatch that last bit. It changed the context of everything. That moment with Damon was actually two old lovers. Great cliffhanger to the season. The writers did a very good job of laying everything out perfectly. Katherine had Elena's things, which Elena had said she was going to go get. When Aunt Jenna discovered Elena/Katherine and Damon making out, she told her that she needed to come inside. Bam, invitation for the vampire. The introduction of Katherine came out of nowhere but was not completely beyond the grasp of happening. The audience has known for weeks that Katherine was still alive. I just didn't think the show would introduce her so soon. Props to the creative team for pulling off such a surprise.

It reminds of me of the finale of the third season of "LOST". The whole episode I thought I was watching yet another Jack flashback. It had always been flashbacks, I had no reason to think it would be anything else. In fact, I thought it was pretty boring. Until that moment Kate came out. And then I figured out this was no flashback. It changed the context of the whole episode. And I of course had to watch it again.

I hope the next season of "The Vampire Diaries" can keep up this epic pacing. I certainly have enjoyed this first season of this breakout show.

Party Down returns

I know, I know. ANOTHER show that I love. Can I seriously have the much love in me?

For good, quality television the answer is yes. That's why I'm very excited for the return of Party Down this week.

Created by Rob Thomas of "Veronica Mars" fame, this quirky comedy in a laugh-out-loud riot. Following a catering company in Los Angeles (!), each episode is set at a different event. With this group of misfits, something always goes wrong and it feels so right to watch it go down every week.

I watched the whole first season on streaming Netflix early last summer. I'm pretty sure I watched the whole season in about a week. It was seriously that good. Don' believe me? Check out the trailer for the new season:

Now I was a bit worried for this season. Jane Lynch was part of the cornerstone of the hilarity the first season as Constance. She's since moved on to even bigger things with "Glee". Her late-season replacement last year just didn't click for me. I was worried Jane's shoes couldn't be filled.

As seen in the clip above, I don't think I need to worry. Adding Megan Mullally seemed to be the perfect trick. And I love that she sort of sounds like Karen from "Will and Grace" but looks nothing like her. Karen is another one of those larger-than-life characters and I hope Megan can bring that energy to her new character.

Living in LA, trying to make it work in the business, and having worked as a bartender/server before, I can't but help get into this show. And if you want to see something funny, you should too.

Glee returns this week (and I've already seen it)

One of the season's best new shows finally returns this week...that's right "Glee" is back.

Glee is truly a mashup of concepts...part drama, part comedy, part musical, part fantasy thrill ride. Although it can be uneven at times (fake pregnancies) it still manages to be a must watch show. I can't get enough.

Since I can't get enough, I had to go to a screening of the episode last night at The Grove shopping center, which happens to be almost right next to where I live. I managed to get there early enough and while the hundreds of fans were ushered in, we were given "Glee" posters and water bottles by Cherrio cheerleaders.

Most of the cast even came for the screening, and I was very excited to see Jane Lynch, especially since I loved her so much in another great show "Party Down". I even managed to get a decent video of the cast, including Jane calling everyone losers!

The episode itself "Hell-O" was exactly what you have come to expect from the show. Great musical numbers, funny wit. The show is back and in fine form. I even saw a preview for the next episode, the Madonna one, and it is sure to be one not to miss as well.

Bad blogger

Yes, I've been a bad blogger. Things have been a bit busy lately.

I got a new full-time job on the Warner Brothers lot. I'm not working directly on a television show, but I am working within the Warner Brothers television division, which is exactly where I need to be right now. I'm on the lot and getting to meet a lot of people, which is exactly where I need to be at this point in my career. It's all been very exciting.

Today I went to listen to a speaker talk to a group of aspiring writers. This person writes for "Private Practice" and it was very interesting to get a working writer's perspective on various things such as getting an agent, writing specs and how shows operate. I was also glad I went, because I know quite a bit more than a lot of the people that were there. Some people asked the most ridiculous questions. Someone had submitted a question before hand asking how much weight did you gain your first year writing. Seriously? One that's probably none of our business. And two there are much more important things you should be asking and worrying about. And some of the people asked the longest questions. I wanted to be like, get to the point and let this person answer. They are who we came to see.

Having gotten the chance to spend three months in a writer's room for a network show, I think really gained a lot that can be taught in a classroom. I do think that was a great learning experience and hopefully will help me with my script writing. Right now I'm attempting to get a spec script ready for the upcoming fellowship contests. And I'll try to blog more. I promise.

Thoughts on LOST

After tomorrow night the final season of LOST will be half over. I'm feeling very mixed about this.

Now I have been a hardcore LOST fan since the beginning. But not so intense that I get too wound up in all the mysteries. I don't have to get the questions answered every week. I'm just more along for the ride.

But as this is the last season (and since the writers have known this for the past three years) I'm expecting more excitement. So far, I have gotten that yet. Used to, I would count down the days until LOST came on. Now its like, oh yeah, its Tuesday and LOST is on tonight.

Maybe part of the problem is the flash-sideways. I can't become too invested in them because I don't really know what they are. Is it a daydream all happening in Hurley's head? Is it really how the show and characters end up?

Also, I think the stakes need to be raised. Kill some people off. It's the last season. And no killing the characters you only added this season does not count.

I thought perhaps after the first six episodes the excitement I was looking for would come. It seemed like that was the first act of the season. If that's the case, act two hasn't really raised the game yet.

Oh and another suggestion. Put Desmond on the show. Stat!

I think another thing that would help is if I really knew what some of the characters wanted. What does Smocke (Smoke Monster Locke) really want? Why is Widmore there? You can't trust a thing they say so you never know exactly what there true intentions are.

I'm excited for Tuesday's episode because it is all about SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT Richard! Hopefully we can get the answers we've been waiting for. I'm just afraid the excitement I'm looking for won't come until the last few episodes. And that's still two months away.
--
In my own writing news...I've been working on a spec script of the show "The Vampire Diaries" for a while now. With some pressing deadlines coming up for screenwriting programs I'm interested in submitting it in. I've changed my plot about three different times, each time taking it further. Observing a writer's room for the past three months has been a great help. I finally got what I thought was a pretty solid idea put together. Broke the story. Even wrote the first two acts. I had my story set after the last episode that aired, back at the end of February. It seemed like a good break in the story to try to fit my own script.

And the other day, I was reading through the descriptions of the upcoming episodes, since the show comes back this week. And low and behold, in the second episode back, something I was using in my script is in the actual show.

Well, boo. On one hand, it is a good thing. It means I'm on the right track with the show, to have something I wanted to do actually turn up in the story. But now my spec is no good. Oh well, back to the drawing board, as they say.

My newest tv obsession

I've recently got hooked on a television show that has been on for a while. Yes, exactly what I need, right. But over the past few weeks, I think I have managed to watch almost every episode of THE OFFICE. And I can now say that I am hooked.

I had seen the show before but never really got into it. But I started to watch and now I can't stop. The show skillfully mixes the laugh out loud humor with the nicely touching moments. Jim and Pam are my new favorite couple. I cringe when I see whatever Michael is going to do next. There's starting to be an embarrassment of riches when it comes to comedy. And I think I like that.

My favorite non-major character: Stanley. He doesn't even have to say anything to make me laugh.

I know there are many great television shows out there that I haven't watched yet or need to. Maybe I'll be able to get around to all of them some day.

I also have been discovering some new shows, one that haven't even come out yet. Yes, it is pilot season out here in LA. The time when the networks film a bunch of shows and then decide which ones to pick up. So throughout the industry the scripts are floating around and even the lowman on the totem poll gets to read them. I've read about six scripts and nothing on the drama side has really popped yet. There are starting to be a lot of cop shows which I'm not really into. I did read the script for the new Matthew Perry comedy MR. SUNSHINE and it was very funny. Hopefully it will get picked up and join the ranks of those laugh-out-loud funny shows.

TV shows I have broken up with this year

I'm usually a very faithful watcher when it comes to my television shows. I don't miss episodes. I fully commit. However, there are a few shows that I have slacked on watching. Shows that I would think I would normally be very into.

One of those shows I watched all last season, Fringe. I'm a huge JJ Abrams fan, so of course I gave this show a chance. I does have that nice mix of mythology that I tend to love in my shows. But maybe the problem for me was that there wasn't enough. This show isn't like Lost which equally mixes character development with the mythology. I think for Fringe I got a little bogged down by the case of the week. I'm not a big CSI/Law and Order fan, so maybe that turned me a way for a bit.

Another show that I have not watched lately is Flashforward. This show was marketed at the NEXT LOST. There were pretty big expectations. And while the first episode was a great start, the plot sort of got bogged down with later episodes. It was the same thing every week and the characters were always discussing there flashforwards and whether or not they would come true. Again, I just seemed to get bored with the show.

I knew I wasn't keeping up with either of these shows when I had a backlog of about four episodes of each show that I never got around to watching. And while both shows are on a break right now, I still can't bring myself to get back into them. I can see myself maybe catching up on Fringe soon though. I really wanted to watch Flashforward to the point where the story caught up to the date of everyone's flashforward. But it doesn't look like that will happen either. We'll see.

Things in LA are going great. I got to sit in on the episode pitch to the network/studio for the show I am working on. It was for the last episode of the season and it was very cool to watch the show runners basically lay out what was happening in the episode. I'm just amazed by what I learn by just being able to sit back and observe.

The funniest show on TV right now...

Last night, the Writer's Guild awards named Modern Family best new show, a title I think it more than deserves. I've recently gotten found more and more people that are getting hooked to this show. Which is great, because I truly believe it might be the funniest show on television right now.

I think what's most great about the show is that it started off so well. That first episode was perfectly crafted. The humor was already in place and all the characters were fleshed out. I really felt like this family had been around the whole time, only we were just now getting to peak into there lives. Most comedies take a bit of time to develop and get to that place where the whole show truly works. Look at how shows such as The Office and Parks and Recreation took time to build. But Modern Family hit the ball out of the park right from the beginning. There are so many great characters I couldn't even begin to choose who's the best. A great problem to have.

With its success at the WGA awards, I think there might be a new best comedy in town. Better watch your back 30 Rock

Here's a funny little video the show made of its insanely funny original song.

The amazing...Chelsea Handler

When I moved back to Los Angeles back in October, one of the first things I had to do was go to a taping of my favorite talkshow: Chelsea Lately. I've become only mildly obsessed with the show over the past year. It is now appointment viewing for me. I never miss a show.

So the first Monday I was here I had a ticket to go to the taping...only to be turned away because there was quite a line to get in. I was third from making it. It seems Chelsea has gotten to be very popular. Luckily, I was given a number to call and told that I could come back and be on a wait list. No longer would I have to worry about my spot in line.

It sounded great and two weeks later, I was back. Even being on the list, I made sure to get in line early enough. I was at the building in Santa Monica at around 12:30 almost 1ish. We weren't set to go in till about 2 o'clock.

Most of the time was spent waiting. Waiting in line. Waiting to get your ticket checked. Waiting to go through security. I could care less, I was just happy to finally be there.

Then we finally went through the doors into the studio. No cameras were allowed inside of course, but I did manage to snap this picture on my way out.

Once inside, I was surprised at how small the studio and stage see. I guess everything does look bigger on television. We were given our seats inside the freezing cold studio.

Then we had to sit through the warm up routine of Brody Stevens. Now...he's no Chelsea. He kept trying to make us laugh. And all throughout the show he kept telling the audience when to laugh and clap. Uhm, we all think Chelsea is very funny. You don't need to tell us when to laugh. Thanks though.

Then finally the show was starting. And out came the talent. Chuy, looks exactly like he does on the screen. He waved and took his little seat. The panel that day included Bryan Callen - the minister from The Hangover, Michelle Collins, and staff homosexual Guy Branum. Then Chelsea came out and everything got rolling.

What surprised me was how quick the taping moved. Chelsea was out and hit her opening monologue in one take. I've been to a few show tapings and they usually take a long time. But Chelsea Lately was running nearly in sync with its actual run time.

After the monologue it was on to the round table. It was a little hard to hear everything, but I still got a kick out of the jokes. Then before you knew it, that part was over and on to the interview. The guest of the day was Brooke White, from American Idol. Now, I would have much rather been in the audience on a day a Kardashian or two were there, but it was still funny listening to Chelsea joke about Brooke's Mormanism. Especially since Chelsea is half-Morman.

Then it was time for the closing. I almost made it on television at this point, as Chelsea moved in to shake the hands of audience members. But this big girl managed to stand up right in front of me as the camera was on me. Oh well, always next time.

Afterwards, Chelsea stayed around long enough to sign copies of her book for whoever had brought one. I didn't have a copy on me, but I thought it was really nice how she did that for everyone.

And I was out of there by 4:30. Not to bad for a show taping. It really was an amazing experience, I can't wait to go back for another taping!

Modern Family makes me LOL

Modern Family truly is the funniest comedy to come out this year. This quote from last night's episode is a perfect example why:

Alex: "What's Jagermeister?"

Phil:"You know how in a fairy tale there's always a potion that makes the princess fall asleep and then the guys start kissing her? Well, this is like that except you don't wake up in a castle — you wake up in a frat house with a bad reputation."

My Vampire Show Obsession

Yes, I have a problem. I can't stop watching vampire television shows.

It all started with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It was the first grown-up show that I watched and still remains my all time favorite. More recently, I've been hooked on True Blood after reading the books the show is based on for years.

Now I can add another show to the mix. Yes, one of the suprise hits of the year for me has been The Vampire Diaries. I didn't watch this show when it first came on. True Blood was just winding down and I didn't think The Vampire Diaries could compete. And really it can't. TB is on HBO and TVD is on The CW. It's like comparing apples with apple vodka. But TVD makes the most of being on a broadcast network. It mixes romance, horror and supernatural elements seamlessly. I watched the first episode and was hooked. And now, I'm all caught up and desperately waiting week to week for a new episode.

The one coming on tonight should be very good as it uses flashbacks to show us more of the vampire brothers history.

I've gotten so into the show that I'm currently working on my own version of a Vampire Diaries script. In the television business that's called writing a spec. A spec basically shows that you can go into a show that already exists and figure out the tone and voice of the show and create a script, just like if you were staffed on the show. Doing TVD has been a great way to try to enhance my writing. Additionally, I'm also working on a script that is an adaptation of one of my favorite book series. And I've got my own original script on the back-burner. That's a lot of writing, but I really am enjoying it.

The start of a perfect week on HIMYM

I thought last nights How I Met Your Mother really knocked it out of the park. And part of what made the episode so great was that all the characters were in situations you could totally believe would happen to them. After 4+ years with these characters, you really feel like you get to know them.

Most of the episode surrounded Barney's attempt to get a perfect week. He's a womanizer and everyone knows it. Of course he would try to go for a perfect week.

And we all know Robin would totally want a guy to call her back, even if she had no intention of going on another date with him. And Ted embarrassing his student (COOK PU) was totally something that would happen to Ted.

The most believable and strange thing was Lily and Marshall admitting that they share a toothbrush. Of course they do! They share everything. Then it just snowballed from there so that Ted also shared the toothbrush and even Robin used it once and a while.

Some of what I'm learning from being in the writer's room is that you really have to understand your characters and their motivations. Last nights HIMYM was a great example of how the writers truly understand their characters and why they tick.

Dollhouse ends tonight...and why I am okay with that.

I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is what got me hooked on GOOD television. It's the one show that probably set me on this path of wanting to work in television. So I have great respect for Joss Whedon as a television writer/producer/creator.

So of course last season I checked out his new show Dollhouse. Intriguing concept? Check. Eliza Dushku getting to look sexy and kick ass? Check. It should have been the perfect combination.

But it doesn't always work out that way. I was engrossed in the story. But with its Friday-Night-Deathslot, it just didn't get the ratings it needed to survive.

I think the first season actually got better as it got closer to the finale...and closer to what most people thought would be its cancellation. How everyone was surprised that it got renewed. And I think the same thing happened this year. As it gets closer to that cancellation point, the show just gets better and better. Some of the recent twists (Ballard is who?!) have been amazing. It's like getting three Lost season finales shoved into two episodes.

But I'm actually okay with Dollhouse ending. It was never going to be a huge hit. I'm glad Fox gave it 26 episodes and committed enough to at least show them all. That's more than can be said for many shows recently. I hope Joss takes his talents to a cable network, where he can stretch his creative juices without needing to attract a mass audience. Regardless, I know I can't wait to see how the story wraps up tonight.

In the Writer's Room

Yesterday was a very exciting day at work. It was the first time I actually got to observe the writer's room.

In the writer's office, the writers room is where all the magic happens. Its where the story ideas come together and everything is fleshed out.

I spent a few good hours in the morning, just getting to sit on the couch and watch the writers work. It was pretty amazing to watch. There's no way to teach this...to learn this. This is one of those things you have to see to understand. That's why this position is such a great opportunity for me.

So picture it. You're a television writer. It's your job to sit around and discuss what happens on the episodes of a television show. Pretty amazing job if you ask me. Of course I could talk television all day.

Yesterday, the writers were working on breaking the story for the next to the last episode of the season. There are so many things that you don't even think of that they take into account. They discuss why characters would do the actions they do, how to make the scenes tense enough, how to break up the acts. While they do that, they basically create an outline of the story on one of the many dry erase boards the office has. Then after the episode is pitched to everyone from the executive producers to network executives, the writer of the episode takes that outline and creates the script. Writing for television is a very collaborative effort. The television show I am working on has about twelve writers on staff. Some of these writers are partnered with another person on staff, creating there writing team.

Getting to watch a television story get created was amazing. There is so much more to the process than I ever could have realized. I can't wait to make the most of this opportunity.

Drinks at Merlotte's

The television show that I am working on right now happens to have there writer's office on the Warner Brothers lot. That fact in itself is very exciting because it gives me an opportunity to explore all over the lot. It's a pretty sweet deal since the official tours cost like $45.

Part of my job involves running new script pages to various executives on the lot. So of course I also do some sightseeing while I'm out making my runs.

I've already found a good bit of stuff (and I'll make sure to post more of it later). But today I set out to find a certain set that I have been dying to see.

Yes, this is the building they use for Merlotte's bar for the hit HBO show True Blood. Here's a picture of the building all set up for the show:

I'm old slightly obsessed with True Blood but I've been reading the Southern Vampire books that the show is based off for a long time. I can't wait for Season 3 to kick-off. Maybe they'll be filming the show on the lot soon!

I'll be sure to post back later this week with more stuff from working in the writer's room.

Greek returns tomorrow

One of my favorite shows is back tomorrow night with all new episodes. Yes, Greek has made its return.

I think this show really clicked with me because it came on while I was still in college. While I was in a fraternity that I had been president of myself. Yes, its easy to relate to this show. And its likable characters and sharp writing only make it easier to love.

There's rumors floating around that Greek may not get renewed if its ratings aren't good enough. So I hope everyone checks it out!

Greek airs Mondays at 10 PM EST on ABC Family.

Late Night Wars Coming to an End?

The last few weeks have been a very interesting time at NBC, as both there primetime and late night schedule is being mixed up. The NBC bashing has come from all sides, even house. And I for one am kind of glad with the results to come so far.

Let me start by pledging my late night affiliation: I'm team Chelsea Handler all the way. That's the only late night show that I can and do watch every night. I've even been to a taping of her show. But that's for a different post.

So I don't regularly watch Leno/Letterman/O'Brien. But I think for the most part, everyone is coming out a winner, with the exception of NBC itself.

Most creative people in the television industry are glad to see The Jay Leno Show failed at 10 PM. Nothing against the guy, but his show meant there were five less shows on the air at NBC. So now that they are going back to the way things should be, that means more opportunities for shows to do well in those slots. That means more shows for all of us to work on. Definite win. And can you imagine if The Jay Leno Show had actually been successful? Then maybe CBS and ABC would have tried to do the same. The television community ended up getting five slots back, instead of possibly losing fifteen.

So now Jay Leno moves back to 11:35. Which is where he wanted to be all along. He wasn't ready to retire. He was still at the top of his game. Sure he's coming back with his reputation a little bit damaged. But still, I think its a win for him.

And poor Conan O'Brien. Only he's not so poor after all. By playing the underdog, he's managed to build a huge image for himself. And he and his staff are getting up to $40 million to NOT put a show on the air. I could NOT work for that amount of money. And come next season he'll be able to launch a show on another network. Most likely on a network that will appreciate his humor and his young adult following. Yes, Conan is a winner in all of this, even if it means he only had the Tonight Show for seven months.

The big loser in all this - NBC. There primetime schedule is in a mess, they really have no breakout hits. It's going to take them a long time to bounce back from this mess they put themselves in. Hopefully, they can start launching some creative and unique shows that audiences will latch onto. Only then will they become a winner.

And I'm still trying to figure out how all of this can help Chelsea Handler. Oh well, she still has E! Some things never need to change.

Life Unexpected..Return of The WB?

A show that premiered earlier this week has suddenly found itself in my weekly viewing list. That show: Life Unexpected.

What its about:The plot all seems pretty simple. Lux is on the cusp of her 16th birthday. She's been bounced around foster care her whole life and is ready to get emancipated. The only problem is her birth parents have to sign off on it. So she tracks them down.

Nate and Cate (yes their names rhyme) had a one night stand when they were only sixteen years old themselves. Nate never even knew Cate had the baby. Only in there early 30s, both don't have there lives together just yet. They act like teenagers more than the actual teenager on the show. Cate has commitment issues and Nate is a man-child who lives above the bar he owns.

All the characters get thrown together when the judge decides that Lux isn't ready to be emancipated and puts her back into custody of her birth parents.

My take: The whole premise sounds like it could veer into being too sweet. The sharp writing and strong cast makes sure the show never crosses that line.

What I really enjoyed was that this feels more like a show that used to air on the WB. You know, those strong dramas like Everwood, Gilmore Girls and Felicity that managed to be feel good shows with real emotion and characters that weren't caricatures. Hopefully Life Unexpected will mark a return for strong, quality dramas on the CW. For now, I'm interested in seeing where the show goes from it. This is the kind of show that I would love to work on!

Favorite Quote: "That was the opposite of being emancipated" - Lux, after the judge rules that she is to return to the custody of her birth parents.

When it airs: Monday nights at 9 PM EST on The CW.

Who I Am

Who am I and why should you care what I have to write about?

My name's Nick. I've been living in Los Angeles for roughly three and half months (for the second time). And I love television so much that I'm trying to make a career in it.

Most people can easily name off their favorite movies. Not me. I can name off a half dozen television shows that I truly love right now. Or another half dozen shows that I think are amazing and truly hold up the test of time. Yes, I watch more television shows then I need to. But, I can at least write it off as 'research'.

Yes, I want to work in television. Specifically I am really interested in producing but writing also goes hand and hand with that. So I'm trying to learn everything I can about the television industry.

2010 has started off really well for me in that I am working my first job on an actual scripted television show. Now I'm only working on this show a couple days a week for the rest of the season, but it's still a major foot in the door that I need. The show I'm working on is on one of the major networks and has been on the air for well over seven seasons. I'm working in the writers room, which has been a great eye-opening experience.

That's me in a nutshell. Now why do you want to read anything I have to write? I'm going to write about television. Both working in it and what I watch. I think it should be interesting. I'm going to have a pretty unique perspective about the television industry. This should be a great way to keep up with my journey.

Thanks for reading this much so far. Hopefully you'll be reading even more to come.
